So sad to hear your news, it was good to see him enjoying his 'cat house'..I'm sure many happy memories will help ease the loss.....It was a pleasure to meet Egon, if only in the 'virtual' world...RIP.

My heart goes out to you. I had to do the same for my cat Bika last year. Probably the hardest thing I've ever had to do. So sorry.

Great capture of him but such sad news - they are family after all.

I know personally words can never do justice to saying good-bye to a beloved pet. Through all your wonderful photos and recent video we Renderosity friends have all come to know and enjoy your loving care that you provided Egon during his long and obviously healthy and happy life. God Bless you and Oline in this time of loss - we will all miss Egon's adventures.

My condolences. I just had to do the same thing with my Jagermeister last Tuesday. They are our kids. As posters have pointed out, celebrate the love and the good times.

He will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge and you will be rejoined: THE RAINBOW BRIDGE Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown...

Ah , I'm really sorry to hear about Egon, I don't normally leave comments but I've followed your posts for a few years now and always looked foward to pics of the indomitable Egon. In fact I was just saying to myself the other day when I saw him in a post how interested he seemed in your quad copter. He always will be a very special chap.

Oh I am so sorry to hear this, I recall you posting photos of Egon before, such a beauty. Our pets become our best friends I believe, no one else quite senses your moods or when you are happy or sad like they do. I remember my cat Raskel she would never sleep in my bed but always with my daughter and it used to make me sad, well the night I got home from having surgery she came in my bed by herself and slept with me and did quite often after that I was in shock and happy and really felt that she knew I needed her close that night. Hugs my friend
