Love this! Great setup and I'm glad to see a sci-fi scene that is in daylight (that's specific to the genre not your renders personally). Had to do a double-take on the Mech as he has two more legs than I remember. While "kit bashing" is the accepted term, I'll say your "design re-assignment" is really well done. For any upcoming scenes you may have planned I would recommend posing the mech's legs in a way that suggests some movement; like he had been marching in one direction and then spun to locate a foreign sound, something less static, more dynamic. As always, I wanna see what happens next! : )
