Description
During the course of the dinner, one of the maids accidently spills a drink on young Bill. He gets pretty well soaked and excuses himself to go and change into some dry clothes. When he exits his room to return, Jeeves, the butler is waiting outside his door. Bill jumps in surprise, but Jeeves gives him a very serious look and puts his finger to his lips in a gesture to be quiet.
Jeeves looks around to make sure they are alone. Then in a low voice, he tells Bill that he needs to be very careful around this family. That they are not exactly the wonderful people they seem. He doesn't come right out and say that Bill is in any danger, but he gives Bill the impression that he could be without some kind of protection.
Then Jeeves hands Bill an amulet on an small chain. It looks like some kind of saintly medalion. He tells Bill he needs to wear that at all times while he is here in the castle. Bill seems a bit doubtful of Jeeves motives and indicates as much with his body language, so Jeeves pleads with him just to humor an old man and just please wear the necklace. After all, what could be the harm in that? So Bill somewhat reluctantly decides to put the necklace on under his sweater before he returns to the dining room. He sees an approving look on Jeeves face as he leaves him in the hallway.
Once back with the others in the dining room, Bill gets to hear many more accounts of Grandpa Racz's exploits during both world wars as well as stories by the daughters and Pasha. They make for great stories, one after the other and before they realize it, the time has slipped into early morning. Reluctantly, everyone agrees it is time for some slumber so they all depart to their rooms.
That night, Bill didn't sleep very well. He kept dreaming that he was being chased by vampires. He even thought he heard some scraping at his door, but nothing ever came of it. He figured he must have just been dreaming again.

The plot thickens though I doubt in the expected way. I bet they were just rats at his door last night. I know what, why doesn't he just "Ask Jeeves" when he next sees him?
