i was shocked today at the resignation of the pope as this has never happened in my life or any of ours. i believe it said the last time a pope resigned was six hundred years ago. another extraordinary event. what's next...

I have yet to try astrophotography, but this makes me wanna point my camera at something heavenly, shiny, and defined by it's orbital dynamics. I love the lunar features you captured here. Judging by the time you took this photo, I would think that it was sometime near the conjunction between Luna (the moon) and Jupiter. Both of them appeared extremely close together, as if the moon had a little, bitty moon circling it, briefly. This is really incredibly well done and I love the-off center composition.

Funny how my view is that anything the Pope does has no significance to my life whatsoever, but is a big thing to so many others.
