Description
I paused on a Thursday night, and glanced upward. This is what I saw. I was on my way home from work and didn’t relish the idea of sharing a partial train-ride home, with co-workers I have nothing in common with…and so I wandered around with my camera, seeking whatever nocturnal Chicago might have offered. I paused, glanced upward, and saw a traffic light, a hotel sign, and light-effects intended to showcase the detailed bits of an elder statesman among Chicago’s buildings.
I know nothing of the Felix Hotel…it has a bar downstairs, it’s located in an old building—one that I suspect has been rescued from the skid-row elegance that once claimed its neighborhood. I don’t know if the hotel in question is as swanky as it’s frontage-mounted sign proclaims, but judging by its downstairs bar, it’s probably the kind of place frequented by people who want to spend time in the midst of it all…of course I have no idea what it all might be, but I can safely assume that Hotel Felix is located right in the middle of it.

Great shot! Noirish, but not quite seedy enough to be TRULY Noir. In fact, the more I look at it, the swankier it gets. Love the POV, nightime look and the way the traffic light looks like an arm handing something to the sign. Great moody shot!

You take some of the best architectural shots...you'd have quite a fascinating photo guide to Chicago if you were to go through your gallery and layout all the pics of your hometown. I'll bet more than half have been taken at night. Found this: Hotel Felix a luxury eco-friendly boutique hotel in downtown Chicago combines luxury and sustainability to provide guests a true 4 star stay experience. Love the light, the POV and your rambles:)
