My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

I recognize it Tara, nice shot.

Took me a moment to really see it. My eyes were trying to make me look at it in some funny way that made no sense, then it just suddenly turned itself inside out. Nice shot!

I think you could be right, looks like the IL2....the only other option I know of would be a P-40 with that particular 'feature'.Another brilliant image, stunning contrasts in the sepia toning.
rockstrider
I really like the tonal contrast here Tara!

Pretty shiny thing. Woof. You have a cool way of finding the surreal or abstract or whatever, but it makes for fun art.
Isabelle711

Nice photo Tara. Jay had a bird hit that part of the wing and forced him to make an emergency landing.

I have no idea which airplane this is and I know that collection pretty well. So with identification a non-issue, now I too can really appreciate the abstract qualities that you've recorded here. The metallic tones...some matte, some shiny, the shadows, the details: rivets and dodads. Like it all. Nicely done and spun for our viewing pleasure:*

Nice soft edge :-)

You have a great eye for abstract. Great looking image.
MrsRatbag
I would never have guessed airplane. But what a wonderful piece to capture! To me it loos like a brass or gold sculpture. Wonderful abstract!

Had to tilt my head a few times but got it eventually :) I saw an old vinyl LP record at first (no wonder I have such bizarre dreams every night!!)

I thought It was a flying saucer :)))

Funny how one's eyes want to follow the edge between light and dark. Took awhile to finally work out where the edge actually is. Very cool.

I don't know what kind it is, but I take your word for being 'that Russian job'. Nice perspective Tara!
