Description
Since I've seen a couple of builds posted up here I thought I'd share my build of "The BEAST" which I did a couple of years ago and which is still going very strong.
Basic Specs.
AMD Phenom II X4 965 CPU
ASRock 890FX Deluxe 3 MOBO
Zalman 110mm CPU Heat Sink Fan
Corsair 850W Power-Factor-Control PSU
8 Giga-Byte of G. Skill DDR3-1600 RAM
Liteon DVD/CD Writer
Liteon BD Blu-Ray Reader
3 Tera-Bytes of Hard Disk Drive Space.
Creative X-Fi Sound Blaster Sound Card
Originally:
2 Gigabyte Super Over Clock ATI/AMD HD5770 Video Cards in Cross-Fire with 1Gig GDDR5 Video RAM each
These have been replaced by:
1 Gigabyte WindForce OC Version ATI/AMD HD7870 Video Card with 2Gig of GDDR5 Video RAM
The single video-card blows the doors off of the two older cards even though they were in Cross-Fire mode and has the added advantage of much less power usage.
For peripherals I have:
Logitech G500 Laser Gaming Mouse which replaces the older Logitech laser mouse in the pictures
Logitech G510 Gaming Keyboard which replaces the older Saitek keyboard
Logitech 550-Watt 5.1 Surround Sound Speaker System (Awesome for my video Games and Movies)
All packed into a fantastic Cooler Master Cosmos S case with touch power and superb ventilation for my over-clocking needs.
So, for those who were curious about my "Beast" machine there she is.

Congrat's, a fine machine and good to see it's still going strong. Maybe we should all have a go at this at least once in our pc owning lifetime :)

It´s great to see some people still building their own computers. Especially when you read so much "Post-PC" era and "I can do everything I want on my tablet/smartphone." comments. I had mine build in a local store years ago, but I zpgraded it and brought a few old PCs to "life" again myself. Spent so much money on camera equipment that a new computer (MB, RAM+CPU) is months away.

Wow, a serious box. Do the lights dim when it boots? Congrats on getting everything to play nice together.
