Description

Many thanks to mhaze for his file 'foam for posting .tgd' that can be downloaded here: http://www.planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,15618.0.html . This is among the best foam setups I have seen. I coupled it with a .tgc clip file by Goms called 'lakes and small mountains' that can be downloaded here: http://www.planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=4484.msg105223#msg105223 . The lighthouse model is by Ade downloadable at Ashundar. Surfaces for the distant mountains include a clip file by FrankB: 'Simple camouflage surfaces' http://www.planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,13078.msg129458.html#msg129458 . And procedural grass (PGS - evolution v2) clip file by dandelO which you can find and download at the Planetside forum. Render time was a killer: 60.48.46; but, was expected due to the water area and foam. Enjoy.

Thank you Mark. I had this image almost finished when (not realizing it), my automatic back up kicked it and I lost the render. Had to start all over.

WOW Bob!!!! This is just awesome. I too thought it was a photo at first, had to look at the details to see it was Terragen. Sometimes you wonder if the long render time is worth it but seeing this pic makes it all the worthwhile. Haven't been around the last while, toasted my hard drive and lost everything. Slowly getting things back and will be rendering again soon. Hope to be rendering something as good as this sometime. Well done.

I add to the echo of that this is what photorealism really means. The froth effects really take this image over the top and kick it into the its gotta be real catagory.

extreme good - an example what someone can make with TG2 (I lift my head, but for me: render times are too long) - anyway: this is a masterpiece - congrats !

Robert, I can't believe those waves. Surf is up. Excellent doesn't even begin to describe this render. The water surface is so real, I can almost see the crabs and seaweed. Depth and size is perfectly in perspective. Whats not to love about this one????

Amazing render Bob! Unbelievable what can be done with Terragen. Tried rendering something lately, but it is way too time consuming for me right now. Thanks so much for sharing your talent!

Thanks to all of you for visiting. Now having this water setup, I'm going to try and create a clip file from it and use it to see if I can create a desert river ...we'll see.

Wow Bob...wow Bob! You were my desert-king, but now you enter the boat and show us some photos of the sea... I am glad you did not stop this mammoth-render-time of 60hrs. Absolut brilliant work, the water looks very natural!

Wow Bob!!! How can the "Desert King" do such a superb image of the coast?...I mean...you live where there is no water and yet you make this excellent image with waves, foam, caustics, spray and a light house...most excellent my friend...reach out more and more and more!!!
