I am a developing artist working on improving my abilities to create beautiful digital landscape compositions. Without the help and suggestions of the many fellow artists in this community, it would be a long time before I reach the next level.
BIO
I am a retired procurement professional who has long had an interest in photography and painting; and, lately in computers and photorealistic natural landscapes. I hope to become more proficient and perfect my abilities to produce acceptable work. My experience in art started at a very early age when I would spend many hours sketching and painting. I had instruction at The Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois. I did some freelance work for Flying Models, Model Airplane News and Top Flite Models creating plans and illustrative construction sequences for magazines and kit models. I had spent more than 20 years designing, building and flying radio controlled model airplanes...a very rewarding hobby for me. During the 1970s, I spent 11 years in the hobby of "bonsai"; the Japanese art of miniature trees. In my first 7 tree entry in a contest, all 7 trees were awarded ribbons in various categories. Japanese landscaping became a passion for me where I completed a 3 year project creating a Japanese landscape around my home in Oak Forest, Illinois. I also did this work for several other people in our community. In 1987 I moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I currently make my home. The love of the American southwest and all its beauty is where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Now that we have computers, digital cameras; and, Terragen; I'll have enough to do for a long, long time.

WOW, Bob, this is Truly Amazing! Absolutely looks like a photo!! I have wondered what happened to you. I haven't heard from you in days and now I know why. Most Definitely Worth the Render Time!!! 10+++++

Thank you Mark. I had this image almost finished when (not realizing it), my automatic back up kicked it and I lost the render. Had to start all over.

WOW Bob!!!! This is just awesome. I too thought it was a photo at first, had to look at the details to see it was Terragen. Sometimes you wonder if the long render time is worth it but seeing this pic makes it all the worthwhile. Haven't been around the last while, toasted my hard drive and lost everything. Slowly getting things back and will be rendering again soon. Hope to be rendering something as good as this sometime. Well done.

I add to the echo of that this is what photorealism really means. The froth effects really take this image over the top and kick it into the its gotta be real catagory.

extreme good - an example what someone can make with TG2 (I lift my head, but for me: render times are too long) - anyway: this is a masterpiece - congrats !

Robert, I can't believe those waves. Surf is up. Excellent doesn't even begin to describe this render. The water surface is so real, I can almost see the crabs and seaweed. Depth and size is perfectly in perspective. Whats not to love about this one????

Amazing render Bob! Unbelievable what can be done with Terragen. Tried rendering something lately, but it is way too time consuming for me right now. Thanks so much for sharing your talent!

Thanks to all of you for visiting. Now having this water setup, I'm going to try and create a clip file from it and use it to see if I can create a desert river ...we'll see.
