Description

A little experimentation: Kelly (left) and Didi (right) were V4's, but this is my attempt to re-implement them as Genesis figures. Hmm, Didi looks right, but Kelly seems a little off for some reason. Her traditional hairstyle was getting mangled in the transition, so this is what it might look like if her hair was tied in bows. I'm trying to feel my way around DAZ Studio. Overall, I'd say that assembling a scene is better in DS than in Poser. The Smart Content feature is nice, and I think the Genesis figure is a terrific idea. However, with the rendering part... Personally, I like the output of Poser better. Poser's Image Based Lights are a lot faster than Uberenvironment, and I think it looks better, too. I know that DAZ is busily working on getting interoperability between DS and Poser to be better, and I can see myself putting a scene together in DS and then sending it over to Poser to render. I can understand why so many turn to Reality/Luxrender. (This render uses neither. It's a "cheap" second light coming from the camera's position.) Well, there's always Bryce for a different look. Maybe I'll give that a try, too... By the way, a little note for those to whom it applies: if your computer is over 10 years old, you are definitely in "pushing your luck" territory as far as meltdowns go... It might be time. Just a thought...

Looks great, there are numerous incredible lights right within Daz Studio that I use all the time. Also, experience is the biggest issue, experience with Daz Studio I mean. It requires you to learn lights, where as Poser does all the work for you - reason so many love it. I do too, but I can't stay in it long enough to get anything done because the work flow is irritating and slow. Before long, I'm closing it and returning to Daz Studio, my first love for scenes and illustrating. The girls look nice, tweak them here and there and before you know it, you'll have them just as you wish. I had several saved Gen4 characters that I remade for Genesis, wasn't easy, but I got them and in fact, they are now better, a tad bit different, but overall recognizable.

That could be the case. I suppose with some more time spent learning, I could get some better lighting results from within DAZ Studio. I'll be looking into it.

Always good to see Didi... She's certainly as attractive as ever :) I know it's creepy that I have a crush on your fictional rendering... The heart wants what the heart wants ;P
