Description

This was the pamphlet our ship handled out to visitors when we went to Nagasaki, Japan. This is page one of the pamphlet. Only two Navy ships a year are allowed to dock in Nagasaki. Not sure why we were one of them. It was nice visiting a port where they did not just want your money. One night we walked into a bar with a red banner above the door. They would not let us stay. I just thought they did not like sailors. Many years later I was reading an article about the importance of a company training their people going overseas about the customs of the country. I found out that in Japan they do not rush the customers out when they close. They just hang a red banner over the door to tell people they are closed and the current customers can finish their drinks in peace. Enjoy!
