Description
This Art Deco-ish light is in the Chewton Glen Hotel at Highcliff.
I went to a high-end cruise presentation there the other day: not my sort of thing at all! All of the cruises on offer were all inclusive and VERY expensive.
As I don't drink alcohol, have a small appetite, dislike crowds and being confined indoors, don't really want to watch crew making animals out of towels, HATE nightclubs, am too short of breath to dance anymore and could teach many of the activities myself it would be a complete waste of money. And many of the ones on offer cost about half of my entire savings unless you slept in the bilges.
My brother and his partner are going for three weeks with a much cheaper company for the price of 8 days for one person with the ones we saw at Chewton Glen.
Still, I got this photo and the coffee was good.

as long as they served good coffee and had great objects to photograph, then it wasn't a complete waste of time. plus given the track record of the cruise ships, not likely

A ceiling light to you, a reprise of the mother ship from the cinema classic, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, to me. I like the sepia effect. As for your distaste for things nightclubbish, I thought you liked the excitement of all of the above: the noise, jitterbugging, laughing, joking, flirting, gossiping, drinking, hail-fellow-well-met, et al.

A very pretty light. Could it be a UFO? We just had a Carnival cruise ship in the news. It was stranded in the Gulf of Mexico for the better part of a week. No power, no air conditioning, no toilets. By the end of the week it sounded like Lord of the Flies.

You know that I am into ceiling lights. We have our name on the 'last minute' sailing lists and get some great last minute deals. They will do just about anything to sail with all the cabins full.
