My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

You are really good with a camera. Makes me want to run out and start taking pictures. Very inspirational.

How did I know it was a plane engine. Nice shot Tara. Was this taken with a new camera?
PHELINAS
I like very much your approach with your camera! Congratulations Tara!

I tried this with stuff in a particular truck yard, and thus, Agara was born...or at least parts of it came into being. I recognize the process here...those exciting bits and pieces of things (generally things that make bigger things go--or at least sound impressive as they're stalling) are always endlessly fascinating...and THIS is endlessly fascinating. I love the way this allows my mind to wander, especially since this has the appearance of something else exciting if you rotate the image a good 90 degrees counterclockwise. It looks like something used to distill that potent stuff that either fuels rockets, or does interesting things to people in bars. Needless to say, I love this shot and all that it implies.

Marvellous! You continue to inspire, as in that first comment. The mark of a true artist.

It does make a striking abstract but it makes me think about the importance of details. So many tiny rivets. An aluminium strap. Screws and bolts. Every one important. Every one having the potential for preventing a catastrophic failure. And every one installed by someone with a work ethic that kept this plane and its passengers safe.

That is definately the fly-swatter end, great shot with your new camera Tara!

ISO 6400. Amazing work. I am gunning for the T4I. Fell in love with it when Chrissy got hers. These Rebels... outstanding cameras especially considering price.

Your vision gets better and better. Does your eye doctor know:) The comments above are testimony to how much you accomplish with a camera. Isn't ISO 6400 wonderful in conjunction with a first class lens!

Well done. I envy your skill and pushing in so close and still creating such wonderful art.

Or maybe it's an abstract in black and red of the front end of the Beechcraft. Or maybe the front end abstract of a red and black Beechcraft.... Or maybe I should just shut up! LOL! Whichever it is, it's a delightful shot, Tara!

Another fantastic 'extraction', so much precision and detail in this one small bit speaks volumes for the whole.....I love Chipka's notion of turning it 90 degrees to get a distillery......it works! and is further testament to your ability to find those shots that offer so much more than just a record of what's actually there.
MrsRatbag
Wow! You really do have a wonderful sense of composition when you look at these things. First class abstract here!
moochagoo
