Description

Nuclear OTV at Lunar Orbit An Orion’s Arm future history image. The Nuclear OTV at Lunar orbit. The OTV passenger transport has disengaged from the Payload Carrier Frame, and a Heavy Payload Lander has extracted the forward payload element, its companion remains affixed to the Nuclear OTV stage. A second Heavy Payload Lander approaches to complete the freight transfer. This is the fourth installment in a short series of posts on freight and passenger transport during the era of the Sinclair migration to the moon, in contemporary time the Martian’s have begun the process of terraforming Mars and continue to harvest resources on Earth. This is around the + 255 year mark on my Orion’s Arm future history timeline. See the Future History Timeline Context Link below. Future History Timeline Context Link: Orion’s Arm Future History Timeline. On a note of disambiguation regarding a question raised by comment on one of the previous installments in this sequence: the Martians (descendants of the men who departed Earth to settle Mars 200 years previous to this in my timeline) are not engaged in reciprocal trade with Earth – only with Sinclair’s people. Earth at this time in my future history is socially and economically stagnant, locked in a long duration devastating global depression. The collapse occurred in the decades following the Martians departure – the devastation is the direct result of intentionally fomented tribalism and irrationality. Prosperity we regard as common is long dead – conditions of anarchy and Statism reign supreme. Former economic powers have dissolved into mob-criminal territories or static Statist/Collectivist regimes – both cases deliver the same result: staggering poverty. Freedom, individuality, and private property do not exist – private enterprise and what remains of production and trade have long since fallen under criminal or bureaucratic control. Wow, wonderful lunar surface! How did you do that? It has lots of 3-d-ness to it so I'm thinking you must have mapped a hi-rez pic to some kind of terrain, no? Impressive, whatever the technique.
