Description
Saint Peter's Basilica is a late renaissance church located within Vatican City. It was designed principally by Donato Bramante, Michelangelo, Carlo Maderno and Giam Lorenco Basilica, Bernini. St. Peter's is the most renowned work of renaissance architecture and remains one of the largest churches in the world. Construction of the present basilica , over the old Constantinian Basilica, began on 18 April 1506 and was completed on 18 November 1626 (wikipedia).

It's an amazing thing to contemplate. All the details, all the materials, the paintings, the contents, the history ... mind boggling. I was looking up something about the pope (did you know there's a rapper in Oakland who has been using the name Pope Emeritus since 2006?) and came across a poster ... Father Guido Sarducci for Pope, 2013. Gotta love the internet! :)
