Faemike55 asked about St. Francis in my last photo, which leads me to....
Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi.
Assisi, Province of Perugia, Italy.
I didn't expect such a huge structure for an order that was founded on the principle of poverty. Very pretty, though. I didn't get to see St. Francis' crypt because there was a huge line and I was running out of time (and frankly was still a little weirded out after seeing St. Anthony's tongue on display in Padua). I was told that St. Francis is the most popular saint in Italy.

I am also impressed by the size of the basilica or monastery here, as the rule that prevailed in St.Francis' s times was poverty and humbleness. A very beautiful monument , astutely captured by your photographer's eye !
