Those who search for acceptance in this world through artistic expression are different from other individuals. Self-expression and creativity are not the results of the status quo. They evolve from the need to be different, the desire to make things and the desire to make a difference.

Simply gorgeous image, I love the subject matter as well as the style!

This was done in the vector program Adobe Illustrator (ver8). One of the contest stipulations was that the piece be done with a vector app. Hope to post more... :)

Nice work Scott, great style. Good to see someone getting the contest off the ground!

classless. I dunno about the meaning in the contest (I didn't read that, sorry) but this image is fantastic :)

Really nice design. A couple points on the stained glass though. 1) It would help if you could give it some kind of glow. Stained glass is all about light. 2) There's no feeling of depth. the "leading" in stained glass gives it a sense of depth. 3) You might get the small waves in stained glass by using rippled glass but they wouldn't be that distinct and they tend to clash with the flat areas of color elsewhere. By the way, the ship in the lower right hand corner is great! - Ken Heronheart -

Thanks Ken, very good points. I'll work on the highlights in the leading, but the rippled glass effect was something that held this up . It wouldn't be a problem is PS but in Illustrator, I was going crazy trying to pull it off. With the cut-off time for entries looming I wanted to get it posted. Thanks again, I value your input. :)
