Description
65 Million Years Ago was intially inspired by the UK BBC Television series "Walking with Dinosaurs". It has taken in the region of 4 months, on and off and some ingenuity to complete.
Using Various Software. Poser 4, Terragen, Bryce 4 and Photoshop 7. The Triceratops model came from Daz3d but the textures for them were created by me except for their Bump maps which were a mixture of mine and Daz's. The Trees were generated in Bryce, Landscape, skyscape generated in Terragen. The landscape was quite difficult to create within Terragen, to try to give it a real looking crusty Earthy Volcanic ashy apperance. The Volcano spouting a smoke plume was fun to create. Everything was then imported using Masks into Photoshop and Composited together. The shadows were the tricky part, trying to create the impression of strong Sunlight and Shadows without loosing too much details in the shadows. The Trees used in this image are accurate in that they were present 65 Million years ago, Juniper and Sequioa. Grass was not Present then and only recently made an appearance several Million years ago.
The original image is much larger and therefore the detail easier to see.
