Description

This day I was asked to create a picture to illustrate a poster announcing a photojournalism workshop. Some friends told me to photograph someone covering a crackdown on gangs, or any act of violence, but because violence is not the only the field of the work of photojournalist, I did not want to focus only on the dangerous or dramatic work , but give an idea of their relationship with their surroundings . So my concept was to present the photojournalist and the city, where there are many events to be covered by him. The model has his camera ready and watchs the urban landscape, where he knows he will find material for daily work I will not be paid for this work is a collaboration, so that intellectual rights are in my possession.

Outstanding work. His pose makes him anonymous so it could be almost anyone. He looks with anticipation on a city full of potential. This will make a great poster.

It works well to convey the intent and there is ample space remaining for titles and other info!

Excellent for a poster, the photographer is seductive and he seems strong, I like the contrast between the neat and the blur, and the monochrome tone !

I like the non-violent photo. Some people don't understand that we can take 100 photos in one day, download them to our computer and after studying them for hours - delete them all. In my mind - I can not make a photo happen. When it happens - I only hope that I am there and capture it!

This shot is real photojournalism as it tells a story with no need for words beyond maybe the title. I very much like the concept of the blurred city because it implies that there is something unknown and will become clear only when you step into that space. This is further done by him looking into that space, as he readies himself to enter this domain. The grayscale gives a timeless sense, which is what all photojournalists hope their images will be.

This is a fantastic shot and it's a perfect illustration for its purpose. On top of that it's gorgeous art in its own right. It doesn't need to be "about" anything, and that's where it works so well. Your focus IS spot on and the blurred background does imply all of those stories that are the life blood of photojournalism. This is really elegant and it tells SO MANY stories.
