Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Excellent capture

They are awfully prolific, aren't they? But I know a significant percentage of their brood won't survive to adulthood. Still, this is a lovely sight!

Such an exciting looking picture, and then also exciting news for you, that the frogs are there, Andrea. What a lot of eyes are looking at me. Amazing and stunning.

A fine photo of these jellied eggs. They should provide an abundance of little hoppers.

I think the newts in my pond eat all the tadpoles so we don't have new frogs anymore.

OH WOW! I would have LOVED, had I a pond with spawning creatures. Wonderful shot, Andrea. Congatulations :)))

Hallo there, all eyes are on us ... you must be overwhelmed and at last (!) got, what you wished for, it must be a real joy - knowing that all those Baby's are giving you evening concerts, soon enough, as long as they don't get eaten or pinched by some predators! I didn't know, that you can just import them and then again - why not? ;) Very cool capture Andrea, BB

Very nice, I don't believe I've ever seen such a good shot like this! I hope we can follow the development of a few of these.

A superb capture, with the low angle it looks shiny! Its so exciting when they start isn't it? I got the first blob of spawn today but it's snowing! The weather is to get a lot worse too! So it looks doomed.

Awesome capture!

And you have an ample supply to produce plenty of tadpoles. I like the POV, lighting and photo!

You will have a big family there then!!

Haven't seen any spawn at the Hollow, but they must be breeding somewhere as there are loads of frogs and toads. Always a welcome sight ..

No sign of them here yet.
