Description
My early experiences with automobiles all revolved around my dad. One of the most interesting ones being my first trip to the local car dealership with him to pick up a part for the family car, a '65 Chevy Biscayne.
Upon passing through the showroom something caught my eye and captivated me -- a shiny black '70 Chevelle SS with white stripes. ...and who could not notice those hood pins?
One thing I clearly recall about that experience was asking my dad: "Can we get this one?"
I don't recall him turning back to look at the car, or to see where I stopped; just his voice attempting to keep me plodding along. I'm certain my dad knew what the car was; and knowing my dad, he probably knew what this meant for the future -- trouble.
After all, we grew up hearing the tales of my dad's street racing days back in the 50's. If he didn't tell them. an uncle or aunt were always certain to bring up something that might lead to it. Perhaps another reason why I had Hotwheels, Matchbox cars, and Tonka trucks as well as dolls.
It's no surprise my eldest sister and I know how to launch a car, steer the car while fish-tailing, go through a snow bank without getting stuck.
This image to meant to try an capture one of those little events in life which should raise your eyebrow, be taken as a warning, or make you ask the question; did they learn that from me?
I hope you enjoy it, and find some humor in such a situation.
