Description

This shrub is a delight in my garden and one of the few prickly things I allow. It has wonderfully bright cheerful flowers with masses of pollen and nectar for the insects, followed by deep purple fruits beloved by. the birds So I put up with the assault on my paper thin skin!

Wonderful capture that's the problem with maturing, as I see it...certain conditions occur that make life 'interesting' to say the least (having a good supply of first aid stuff is essential)

Wonderful capture, Andrea. I like berberis, as we, my brothers and I, grew up with berberis around the whole apartment block. The kind that have acidulous tasting leaves. We sometimes chewed these leaves and we made necklaces of the fruits. WHo cared if they were prickly? We didnt. We made caves in them. :-)
