I'm sure it's handy to have a footbridge there.... but yea, it stands out like a sore thumb against the beautiful environment. The foundation looks like there was a nicer bridge there once. But that is an eye sore. Probably someone put that in cause it was cheaper and easier to build. You must walk a lot, you find so many things.
