Description

Photo taken 3 march. 3 march 1945 the so called friends from England bombarded my city. Ok, it was a war. But they made a giant mistake. Almost 1.000 people died, because.... they turned the maps around ... The sad thing is, ever since.. even now.. 2013. The English (who did it) do not appologise, they do not even send the embassador to our rememberance ceremony. Never. 1.000 people died because the Brittish turned a map around and they don't seem to care. It makes the Dutch angry, very, very angry, And sad. Because with such friends, who needs an enemy As if it was not sad enough, most who died were people from Rotterdam who survived the HORROR bombardment of Rotterdam (Germans) in 1940 and almost made it to the end of the war in The Hague, where they found shelter and friendship. And than.. about 2 months before the end of the war.... Death found them.
On this photo the major of my city, Mister J. van Aartsen. He just put flowers at the Monument of the Orange Family (Royal Family). It is Juliana van Stolberg and her 5 sons (a German family). Almost all of these sons gave their life for our freedom in the war of our independence that ended (in our favour) in 1648, 365 years ago. Green and Yellow are the collors of my city. Yellow, the sand (beach / dunes) and green the woods and parks.

war is total failure of the golden rule - the germans were lots nicer !? europe will take a while to meld, only if focus is on the future - the dead would rejoice in living , if they had the chance

artofsouls .. it is never the people.. it is the governments. Governments that do not seem to care about people.. (all over the world)

curveemark - The German government was as wrong as wrong could be.. And it does not mean the other side could not make mistakes. but do appologise.. do send representatives of the current government. Show that you agree that you made a mistake.
