Description

We are that which we are made of; skin and bone, various minerals and water. But we are also so much more in the way of our lineage. Not that we are to be doomed by the past, nor to be praised by the positions of our ancestors; but we are always a part of them, and they are genetically preserved as a part of us. I grew up hearing rumors that we might be part Mohawk; but not until my sister started her own research into our family's ancestry did we know for sure. Among the diverse ancestry that makes our family true mutts, we can proudly list being part Mohawk as one of them. This is my tribute to my great, great grandmother; the rumored, but unconfirmed Indian Princess, who will always be held as such with us. As with any of our ancestors, I would like to think if we could meet in this lifetime, they be pleased and recognize a bit of themselves in us.
