Description
This will probably be the last image I post here (I've deleted all the rest of them except for one). I won't go into the reasons, except to say that my literary partner and I are still trying to find an audience - and it's apparently not with any of the online communities that we have been to so far.
Now for the story...this is dedicated to an elderly couple with whom I am acquainted. They met and fell in love over sixty years ago as teenagers - then drifted apart for many years.
They reunited in the early 1970s, and - for better and worse - have been together ever since. Of course, they had to hide their relationship from the rest of the world...at least, until recently.
Last November, the enlightened voters in my wonderfully progressive blue state decided that same-sex marriages were not a big deal, and finally extended the rights and protection of legal marriage to couples like Penny and Jewel.
Penny and Jewel were finally married this past December - aged eighty and seventy-nine, respectively.
It was the first and only time I have cried at a wedding.

Very beautiful dedication to your friends on another note, I'm sorry to see you leave. I rather enjoyed your work and I know that I will miss it and you. if anything, perhaps time to time, you could let us know how you are doing - just drop by with an image and narrative. Whatever you do, Take care and stay creative. Mike

Lovely and romantic!

Thank you, Mike - you are too kind. As you can see, the paucity of views and comments - despite the fact that I have really attempted to offer meaningful commentary and encouragement to others - tells me I'm not all that welcome here. I've had similar experiences with my writing. Perhaps, somewhere on this vast World Wide Web, there is a place for what I offer - but I don't think it's here.

Marvelous render and dedication to your friends. I very happy for them. Sorry to hear you are leaving. Like Mike said, drop in once in a while to let us know how things are going.
