Thank you so much, Helle, for this magical and beautiful gift. It's always amazing what you do with whatever you choose to create with---amazing how you took these charming building-drawings and turned them into mystically-hued visions of winter and summer. You get such a shine in your paintings. And I much appreciate the promise of winter turning to light (and warmth), as a wish for my birthday (with all that's happened of late). The winter piece has a 'twilight' feeling, with those deep purples and blues, and that mysterious green in the sky like it were an enchanted winter dusk. (And snow-white hues spread throughout.) And then the summer version has these near-African greens and reds. (African fabrics have some of the most vivid greens and reds in the world, that's why I say that.) And your rushing green grasses on the bottom...As always, your textures are totally 'you', the spontaneity is all yours, and however you do it, physically or digitally or both, a sense of colors bleeding into each other while being very separate. (I really dig those borders, too!) A beautiful diptych and a beautiful wish, and I thank you for both; and thank you for bringing this warmth and sunlight into my day. Thank you so much, it's a beautiful gift, Helle; all your gifts are.
