Description

Sunny Day for this one :) Same Story... The Great Slave Lake is located in the Northwest Territories in Canada. With an area of 28,568 km2, is the second largest lake in the Northwest Territories West, behind the big Bear Lake, and the ninth in the world. This is the extent of the deepest water in North America, with 614 m. It takes its name from Slavey, one of the tribes of Indians in Canada. British fur trader Samuel Hearne explored the area in 1771. In the 1930s, following the gold rush Klondike prospect of travelers in the region. Lode gold there was finally discovered in 1934, which precipitated the construction of the city of Yellowknife in 1935, the capital of the territory on the northern shores of Great Slave Lake. This lake is formed due to the geological event of the withdrawal of glaciers at the present interglacial period the Holocene, it began in the late Pleistocene there are about 11 400 years the Northwest Territories by part of the Canadian Shield. And sedimentary rock formations are visible on the shores of the island Blanchet of Great Slave Lake with visible strata were deposited in ancient seas; the southern and eastern shores of Great Slave Lake unveil a granite relief. Merci Magik
