Abreojos means "open eyes" in Spanish. I live on the tip of Baja California and Colorado before that.
2013 update. Had to go to work in the states since the crash of 2008. Speend my summers in ND working. Spring and summer in the southwest and winters home in Cabo. Got back into photography and am enjoying that far more than digital landscape programs for many reasons but mainly because it get me away from the computer and out in the world again!
Since I Started playing around with digital art several years ago and have created images I never thought I had the talent to create. I have learned from many great artist in this community since IÂ became a member IÂ believe back in 2002. Â Thanks for stopping by!

No help from me:) I worked two summers during college for a tree surgeon and still can only identify 3-4 types of trees. I suspect this species can be found somewhere between Baha and North Dakota though:) How's that for a range?

Paul is good. I was going to say Fred. Tree has to be close. On the serious side, those thorns suggest a QUINCE of some sort. We have a smaller version as a bush out back. Leaves look about the same and I'll never forget the first time I grabbed a branch to prune it and did not notice the thorns: hence the label "DEER RESISTANT."

Lovely pic. but no idea what it is.

I am guessing it is some kind of Arctostaphylos given its leaf shape but I have not seen them grow in tree form like this.
