Description

3dsmax for modeling, Octane render v1.11. A geosphere lattice, instanced 400 times into a circle using array, then instanced further with the Superflow maxscript and Clone modifier, into a component of the Flower Of Life (the 6th step). NO fractal application or algorithms were used here; just simple modifiers, and a special technique of instancing all objects with a central pivot , then cloning the results, and rotating the cloned groups. Using the Superflow maxscript to set a unified pivot point placement on all objects in the array is key; from there, anything is possible.

This reminds me of my earliest childhood memories in school, when I used a Spirograph for the very first time - but this is 3D and not 2D, in many layers of this mesh, just like one of Grandma's ornamental doily's ... interesting montage ... ad infinitum! BB

Quite remarkable. I appreciate your description, as my first impression was of a fractal pattern. I've done similar instancing in Bryce (replication with offset) but not to such a wonderful level of interwoven detail. Beautiful work.
