This makes me think of the Michael Ondaatje novel: In the Skin of a Lion, even though this doesn't really have anything to do with that novel. There's a nice, rustic sense to both, and I think that's what does it. I love the details in this and the overall mood. The sheep are a nice, living touch.

You really do produce some wonderful images. This is one of those scenes that "grab" you. The hill farmers and poor sheep are having a terrible time of it this winter/spring. The house and it's setting reminds me very much of my first house in Ironbridge...picturesque and jolly cold in the winter:-)
