Description
I've been trying to mimic hand drawn illustration using filters in postwork. I'm going for a graphic novel or children's book style that mixes standard illustrative outlines with watercolor, gouache, airbrush rather that traditional flat comic colors.
Imagine you were not a Poser artist and just looking at these images in a book with accompanying text. Do they still look digital? Is one variation more effective than the other? How could I increase the hand drawn effect?
Thanks for looking.

Number 2 looks more hand drawn to me. I don't have any suggestions, I'm sorry.

I like the bottom one best.

Have you taken a look at Corel Painter? Granted, if you wish only to produce a hand-drawn effect, Painter may be more than you need. It's a full-featured program for the professional digital artist. But it is frequently on sale at corel.com and you'll never exhaust the effects it offers. Alternatively, the Photoshop Photo Effects Cookbook published by O'Reilly offers great variety for PS users. Cheers

Thanks for the feedback folks. Yes I am familiar with Painter but it wasn't that much to my liking. I'll take a look at the Photoshop book though.

Marvelous work! I like 2 but I think 3 has a more hand drawn look.

The Composition is good. Eyes are drawn to each figure and each figure has it's own merits. The second one looks smoothest and with the least amount of artifacts on Papa. The last looks like the shadows have taken control. Perhaps it has the best hand drawn look. I would go into more depth but everyone has their own way and style and somethings I might not like might simply be a matter of style. Add Word ballons and see how it works.

Thanks for the critique Quietrob, short but to the point. When people mention things like composition and shadows it gets my heart aflutter, lol. I agree with your thoughts and those of others, number 2 holds more detail and contrast. I'm actively trying to create my own style but would be interested in any other comments you may have. Feel free to message me if you like. No words for this piece beyond the title "Behold the Young Prince". You can create your own story behind it.

No 1 looks like an oil paint. I would choose No 3 for hand drawing picture
