Description

This sequence illustrates the drainage channel construction downstream from the box culvert. In the upper left we see the over view. You can see a little of the rebar for the next pour. In the upper right you can see the rebar cage a little bit better. In the lower left you see the detail of how the rebar tucks into the trench at the top of the channel. You can also see the little grey stand offs which hold the rebar the required two inches off of the ground. And finally in the lower right you see the box culvert with wing wall forms still in place where the drainage channel will end up.

Thanks Dan, that makes it so much more interesting! I would like to see this in high operation. I have seen work like this in Texas when visiting my daughter and it is hard to imagine those channels full of raging water, but when she phoned me terrified once while caught in a heavy downpour and unable to drive I began to understand.

Thank you and you are welcome. Here we have a stupid motorist law which requires you to reimburse the government for the cost to rescue you if you purposely drive into or through flood waters.

Love all forms of architectural phtography. I remember back in school my teachers would get on me for not taking more photos with people in them. This is good stuff and hope you're planing on going back from time to time to take more of this subject and would love to see it when its finished.
