Description

He went to sleep with his head in my lap this morning, snoring softly, at the vets. A shot to calm him. They gave me time with him before the final injection. He died in my arms. I'll receive his ashes in about a week. This was always my favorite photo of him. Goodbye, my old friend.

What a beautiful dog, and a beautiful tribute....I'm so sorry for your loss. My sister went thru the exact same thing with her rottweiler, and she keeps her ashes on her dresser, in a memorial vase. I dread thinking about the day when my "Zack" goes over the "Rainbow Bridge".....he's 10 yrs old now....and he's healthy....I hope he'll be around for a long time. I'm sorry for your loss....take care and God bless.....

My heart hurts with you. Such a beautiful tribute to your handsome friend. Thoughts, prayers and big hugs to you my friend. Passing peacefully in your arms was hard on you, but to be with him until the end is really much easier than receiving a call telling you he passed. I've experience both lately. And as much as it hurt me to see my baby boy,Brutus pass away, it was easier somehow than hearing on the phone from the vet that my old man Sugar had passed.

I add my sympathy to those above. It's always sad to lose a faithful and loving companion. My Mother buried the ashes of her dogs in their favorite spots and placed a small concrete statue there to remember them. Know in your heart that you did the right thing for Thor.
