Description

The base station was empty. Like a hallow shell. We dusted the tables and floors and waited for our soldiers to return to home base. They were away, at war. We watched their progress on the news. We knew not all of them would return alive but we tried to stay positive. We trembled each time the news reported the number dead. They were our friends, our soldiers although we were only janitors, cooks and cleaned and prepared meals when the base was alive with many soldiers.

Instead of using the Observation Deck room, I used a powerpoint background to make it look like a dark, hollow space. I put the monitor up over an empty table, trying to give the impression of a solitary space.
