Description

The cover of volume 1 of my four volume fantasy story as I could imagine it. The full title is Sevaril The Moon Stone, Sevaril is a very special sword of great power but dangerous for the unworthy. The Moon Stone is a mythical gem placed as a dragons eye in a, for most people, secret temple in the southern mountains, at the edges of the mighty empire, Korr's borders. The "author's name is a concentration of my name ( Johnny Olander Christiansen) which I think is to complicated and to long.. The chronicles of Korr is a reference to the past, with a 2000 year long list of former rulers and kings, some with importance in the history, other just mentioned. So Iphis' lineage have a very long history, now as the last survived member of this royal family. The past and now is woven tightly together because events 800 years ago play a critical role for our story and characters today. Secondly, also a story about two families, caught in the turbulence of decisions and acts in critical days, same 800 years ago where the world almost broke apart when the false prophet, Renteril, suddenly and from nowhere appeared and tried to conquer the world and by the same time devastate it. Only two persons stood up against the tide of enchanted hordes of "mindless" people flowing thru all civilized lands in chaotic destruction. The beautiful and wise high borne light elven princess, Elefinuel and the - at that time very famous protector of common people - the fearless, but also vengeful knight, Belinor. The two-family aspect in the story just appeared while writing, it just seemed right. At times, it becomes a bit of a detective story too, where Iphis tries to tie the loose ends together. The two young girls Iphis and Darkhawk,(the demoness), become best friends and spend often very funny times together. Last mentioned tries at several occasions to recommend her halfbrother Nightshade, the Crowns Ranger to Iphis, as a "very s-w-e-e-t man"..! Several more characters have "big roles" for exampel, the never smiling halfling Sinassa, certainly not a hero type but the world's greatest chef (in his own opinion) and a friendly, smart, funny talking, but also a bit naive GREEN little demon. Ring a bell? Yes, even digital characters have a past! But these two last ones, absolutely different in anything, become best of friends. Thanks for viewing and reading this. JohnnyC / Rhanagaz

Cool Johnny... I'm gonna give ya some input because that's the best thing is to have others try to give you ideas - so, take it and use what you want and what you don't want to use try and see why I said it. 1. Your Title... kinda odd, Sevaril being yellow and the moon stone being blue... are you set on the name Sevaril? - you want something easy to pronounce so it sticks in peoples minds - people are going to second guess themselves if they are pronouncing it right - like mikeerson - how many people second guess how I pronounce it - lol... my name is Mike Anderson... all I did was take out And... so it's obvious when you know that that it should be pronounced Mike Er Son.... 2. Sevaril (or a simpler name) should be your Main title with the Moon Stone being a smaller type as a sub title. 3. A name I just thought of for Sevaril - "SEVER" it's close to what you have and it means to cut off - and you said it is the name of your sword. 4.I personally would NOT put Vol. 1 THE LONG JOURNEY into or anywhere near the title... you want to draw your readers into an adventure.... the word LONG and JOURNEY are telling the reader IT'S GONNA TAKE FOREVER... LOL 5. When starting out a story, you don't want TO BE CONTINUED by the story, it makes you feel you're gonna read a book but there is no ending - lol 6. Written by John Oland - creative... I like John as a writers name .... If I used written by Mikey - People would take it as serious - Even though, I prefer Johnny and Jimmy over John and Jim. - ya know what I mean? as for Oland - Dude, Chrstiansen is a powerful writer's name, you should use it. 7. and now the Art... LOOK at your rider, what is it telling you? ...It's telling you she's not in control of her horse... both hands have things in them and the reins are not in her hands.... and.... where is the "STAR" - the "SWORD"??? I'd put the shield on her back, the sword at her side (or back) and the speer? I wouldn't use it on the cover..... 8. Where is she going or coming from? did she just battle? make her dirty? what is her physical feelings? is she tired, slouch her over, close the eyes somewhat... Hope you find this useful, I think of stories a lot and have some stuck in my mind for years that I haven't bothered to write down, but it's like an old movie to me that I've seen a hundred times - lol
