Description
Captured 1/9/13, early in the morning, while on my way home from Walmart.
Worth a ZOOM for the detail.
I've been absent from the Rendo scene for various reasons, and am now back to post stuff when I can.
Toodles.

Wretched indeed, and not much of a barrier to rodent, feline or other small mammal-kind. But as a photographic subject, well-spotted indeed, and welcome back!

I had a long break as well. It's good to be back; and hope you feel the same. Critters must love that door; easy access. Welcome back ((hug))!

It makes a good photo, for sure, enhanced by that great light.

I agree, the first thought that comes to mind when viewing this Old door was the open invitation for vermin in the area. This place needs some work. I also noticed the mail slot was rather low on the door, interesting :-) Nice Job

I agree with Shari and open invite for all sorts of critters,,, glad you are back

the sign of a fine photographer that their shots are such worlds-unto-themselves that we forget there's a world around them. You said this was on your way to Wal-Mart: Do you know how often I do a double-take when you tell us that your shots are on your daily paths to stores, etc? This door seems the only thing in existence, in this shot. That's the magic of photography, and you capture it over and over. Love the detail, and the contrast between wall-grain and the smooth painted door. (I can't tell if that's all wood, or plaster board and some metal. It's gloriously exposed at the bottom.) I agree with Andrea about the light---you've captured light in your gallery that is so unique, of the 'moment': It draws us into moods that can't be named. You're 'called' to those lights. Beautiful indeed, and such fine shadow contrasts, as if they were designed by someone before-hand. And there's just enough at the bottom to show us the 'strata' that stoopa and sidewalks give us. Very geological. I know this got into the forum, right? LWiTG? Well it deserves it, but, as you already know, I think a lot of your stuff deserves it. A beautiful, bleak yet highly textured shot, and that green-blue-yellow light is to die for...
