Description

Isabella stirred weakly as Aaron entered the room. The nurses had warned that she may be a little gorggy from pain medications, but it was still odd to see this normally strong woman so out of it.... "Oh, Aaorn did you get the number of that truck?" She asked laughing softly before seeming to drift off to sleep. Aaron knelt beside her hospital bed his mind whirlling with turmultous emotions. It had only been a couple of months ago that he had learned that the woman he had come to love wasn't born as "Isabella Crawford"--that she had this secret identity--this oh so noble cause--all centered around him and his potential to be something near mythical in the abilty to do great evil--or good... It was now his turn to struggle with the ramifications of this knoweldge--and to run from how he felt about her as she had once did from him. What in the hell can you do with something that HUGE--how can you figure out what is real and what isn't? The pregnancy served only to muddy things further... As he stared at the now snoring Camia, all his former worries melted into the background. This incredible woman had just given birth to his daughter--a 13 pounder dubbed Rebecca--uhm oh yes a big, BIG girl with lungs to match. Oh, how the nurses cooed over her, remarking how it had been some time since they'd seen a child that large. They chided him to hold her neck as he took her in his arms...the instruction was necessary--usually babies this big were already looking around on thier own. Nothing mattered in that moment but that tender soft bundle lying in his arms--suspicious wetness welled in his eyes--ignored and all but denied...but there all the same. "Geez, " he muttered softly, "Now two women have completely stolen my heart..." Aaron could tell by the audible "Awws" that his comment had won the nurses over. Not his intiention--his words were both hokey and sincere. Now mother and daughter were both sleeping and all Aaorn could feel was a kind of settled calmness--and--warmth...he wanted to say somthing, anything--even though she wouldn't hear it at all. Leaning over he kissed her cheek softly and grinned... "Thank you."

It's nice to see this part of the story - finally, Alicia. This explains a lot about why, in spite of the fact Edicus has his smarmy charm, power and other talents (;) Camia is still so in love with Aaron. A sweet image and nice bit of story!

Thanks guys--I wanted to redirect a bit so as I work on the film--delving into character motivations helped me strike this idea up...:-)

This is a very beautiful image of Aaron. He has that kinda stunned look of a new father. Your writing really shows how torn he is feeling right now - like he is almost ready to explode internally with all the contradictions he is feeling. And yet he appears outwardly collected. Good show.
