Description
Runsiman handed Neiwil a tin of Blue Obsidian Paint, " already got one thanks", he said. Runsiman frowned, "Yes I know!, that's why I got a new one.....read the label.." Neiwil read, 'Keep out o...Not to be taken....500 year half....May contain....WARNING: BE AWARE..All traces of Blue Obsidian Paint should be removed ( using warm soapy water and a lint free cloth ) within 24hrs of application. Any surface coated for longer than this will become invisible and lose all molecular cohesion. Should an item be 'lost' inadvertently, the 500 year half life will begin to restore it after 500 years. Full restoration will take a further 500 years...."bugger" said Neiwil, " well we'll have to start all over again, what did you do with the parchments and blueprints ?" he asked Tailspin. "They're in my 'pilots map case'," he replied. Neiwil didn't want to ask, " and that is ?"....." in the cockpit under the ejector seat "..Runsiman patted Neiwil on the shoulder, " It's probably just as well, a person can only take the Purple Pig Potion once, or the effect is permanent. You've proved the theory, you just need a different power source ". They began to walk back to the Inventorium, Neiwil turned to ask Runsiman about the Trans-Mat beam.....but he'd vanished. Neiwil sighed, " I had such high hopes for this, I saw it as the seed for something great. I saw it growing and branching out, with a whole new crop of really useful 'stuff'..." Tailspin cut in, "That's it!! you wanted a snappy name to fit on a smaller sign.....how about 'The Invention Tree'....Neiwil shook his head, " I was thinking more along the lines of ' The Plant '..." he said. Tailspin laughed, "Sounds like a bloody garden center, it'll never catch on!".They walked on to the workshop, as they approached it Neiwil said, " you know, while you were on your 'joy ride', I was thinking.." Tailspin eyed him suspiciously..."Ohhhh yes!" he said. " Yes, if we built something ' like' the F-104, but ten times bigger, without the wings and turned it up on it's end and got an elephant....". Tailspin broke into a run, " I'll see you around.." he called over his shoulder....Neiwil walked into the workshop, he was about to light a candle when a voice from the shadows said, " Neiwil, it's the F-104, it's awful, you've got to come with us..........THE END ?
My thanks to all who have contributed in some way large or small. My special thanks to all who have taken time to comment....This all came from the line ' The Wellstacked family have been important land owners here abouts since the Norman conquest '... in my post "When will he learn". That led to the image 'Long long ago'.. each image then raised the question what next? With an image done, the text came at the time of posting, 'on the fly'....some worked, some didn't. I must say a special thank you, to Miss Musty Crevice of the British Museum, who unearthed some valuable research that was a great help. WHAT!, that surprises you???, well of course every word is true !........except maybe the start, middle and end :-)
Please fasten your seat belts and ensure your seat is in the upright position. We will shortly begin our decent to the 21st Century.....we hope you have enjoyed the journey and look forward to welcoming you onboard for our next flight of fancy.....Thank you!

THANKS a LOAD, Neil. This was a most entertaining dip into past history. As before, you've done an excellent job at making fun images and coming up with a fantastic story to go with them. I'm still hungry for more! And, I suspect, you will, true to your generous nature, give us more! Thanks again! :-)

Great job Neil...as you know I've been AWOL for a little while...travelling about like a 21st century Gypsy. Our vardo is quite comfortable though:) Will go back and review the episodes I've missed. Comforting to know that Neiwil and Tailspin have been mates for so long...
