Description
These neglected beauties captured over 2011 & 2012, in and around the vast perimeter of the neighorbood.
They look even better -- or worse -- in ZOOM.
Toodles, and have a nice day.

They have certainly seen a hard life; wonderful textures in the decay, and the brightly coloured paint splashed over them just highlights their condition. Well-done collection and presentation, Harry; the detail in zoom is excellent!

I am a fan of #1. However all look inviting. What could be on the other side? Door #4 actually looks to be in good shape...the house surrounding it maybe another story. Sorry I've been missing for a bit. We are on the road for the next two months or so. Will check in as often as possible.

At least there is a bit of greenery for the insects in the bottom one!

Despite the condition of these doors, they may only be elaborate facades housing many thousands of dollars of property. Great job capturing realism in some portions of the neighborhood. :}

I would call the garage door neglect... great shots though.

a helluva collection, and at least one of them was in another of your montages...a real potpourri, such interesting variety of decay. The top one is vertical (as opposed to the horizontal ones that I've commented on---and btw, I've already commented on some of these, so I couldn't leave another one today). In the first shot, some of the panels have been neglected long enough to have almost no chipped paint left at all. (And a big clump of wood at the left-bottom: Nice patchwork, guys!) I love the lonely latch on the left, too. The second isn't plagued so much by peeling as by spots where someone kicked the door in, or maybe some animal really wanted to get out. Minimal in a way---I love the big holes. Number three could be an abstract painting---the subtle light blues against the darker blues, on the left side; and those spots of gray/white mold (mold?) or other organic dots along the right side. Even a big square on the left---semi-purple?---like a painting by a 20th C. abstractionists, especially Mark Rothko. There's even a clump of rusty stuff on the driveway---I love it, sitting there in ornery contrast. And the final image---what the??? All those grasses growing under the door? I take it there are no cars coming through this thing! Maybe the notice on the door indicates that this place isn't used anymore (or is condemned, or cited, I don't know.) Another bunch of real finds. You wrote "They look even better -- or worse -- in ZOOM."----oh, worse, worse! The worse, the better! A wonderful collection. You have to be one of the only RR photographers with a collection like this. It's a great collection, Harry. Kudos for keeping these coming. Ok one more shot before I leave for now (I'll be back more this month)...
