Description

Winter was supposed to be leaving us. I had gone out last week to welcome Spring, Spring had spread her mirror puddles on my street. She was anxious and eager to please. Spring knows everyone loves her. But Winter had other plans. Winter decided we needed to spend more time together. So Winter let her powers be known. She alone decides when Spring can really come. Winter gave us over yet again to her ephemeral fae child - Snow. Snow likes it here. Snow knows she can come at any time of year. Without invitation and often unannounced. She comes and goes as her mother pleases. Snow is a beautiful fae but she can also be deadly. She is a lovely creature to watch, but you have to be cautious of her. Each year she takes hundreds of people who let their guards down around her. And Snow never says sorry. I took the hint. She wanted some attention. Perhaps a final playful goodbye for the season. Then again, perhaps not. Snow is known to linger on well beyond her welcome. So I got my gear and went out to see what Winter's daughter had left for us. She did wonderfully. Snow rarely looked so beautiful. Winter and Snow always do well, if you just let these ladies have their say.

We were threatened but just got a little dusted here. Most of it's gone now - but the moisture is good! I actually witnessed snow on June 6th many years ago. It was rather bizarre to say the least. Nice image and writing, Roxy!

Great and true words and wonderful image without a creature in sight. Spring's time around here is very short anymore. Winter seems to linger to challenge Summer's growing power. Someday even Winter may succumb to Summer's dominance for many years. Beautiful and crisp shot with a perfect balance in contrast.

Breathtaking winter shot. Winter is reluctant to let Spring through here, too. But I see her sneaking here and there, buds on the daffodils, tiny leaflings pushing through on a shrub, just little things. Spring can be sneaky like that, afraid to let Winter see her creeping in. This is an awesome capture, so much to see, wonderful details, love the puddles and reflections and the clouds
