Just some useless info... macro photography... a few ways to go about it. A true Macro Lens is the most costly. Or, the use of extension tubes using a kit lens can yield similar results. If you choose the tubes - choose ones with electric connects. These will allow communication with lens - giving focus and aperture control. Not so with the ones I have. So - its back to the drawing board for another set. Glad these were very inexpensive. Many thanks!

The detail you got in the center is superb. I'll look forward to seeing what you try next! I'm getting quite an education here!

Whatever equipment you used, the result is fantastic.

wow, that's pretty neat. I tried a macro of coins, but never got anything this cool.

Great macro - it really brings out the roughness & imperfections in what looks smooth & mechanically perfect to the naked eye...

I enjoy reading about your experiments with lenses and other equipment. I read your previous upload (hit a wall) and my view is the same that so many have come and gone but if you have something to share and also can learn here from others that do stay, that is what can keep this site going for those that do stick around, so maybe you will stick it out. You were one that was critical of one of my very first posts here and I did not get offended by you at all but I took the advise and I have grown as an artist I believe for just those type of reasons that I do continue to post and visit the various artist that share their work here. great shot..

Kenko brand works just fine and the new versions communicate with Canon's. they are much more reasonable than Canon brand. I am looking at a 2x Canon and they want more than $400.00 including a rebate outstanding macro

Nice shot Fred. I recently got a reverse lens for my macro ... I struggle with it. I think I should have (maybe) just gotten the reverse lens for my standard/kit lens? (Nikon D90 here)

Wonderful mood, colors and details here. I love the light/dark contrasts and the really great abstract quality this has. The faint hints of warmer colors are a nice touch. Brilliant work and great, useful information.
