Nice indeed!

The environment you have … created (speaking loosely, for these are all commercial items simply loaded in a scene) is … acceptably (within boundaries of the caveat noted) … crafted. However the appearance of the “bike” is completely out of place and visually jarring. The problem with this image is you have made no attempt to show, with appropriate lighting, reflection in the material of the vehicle, or with rain/mist spattered on the vehicle, that the vehicle is part of the scene – presented with the complete lack of efforts to this end, it is almost as the bike was rendered in an entirely different environment then photo-matted into the image. The effect is jarring – the bike does not appear to be naturally part of the image. The fact that you describe the vehicle as new does not preclude effort on your part to make it appear to exist naturally in the scene – there are many techniques to accomplish this and I have provided examples below. The examples I have selected are screen captures and digital fan art from the movie Bladerunner – showing the Police Spinner, which you may note has the appearance of being new and in pristine condition despite the gloomy dystopian environment in which it is shown, and precisely because of a competent artistic sensibility, appears to fit perfectly into the environment around it. Here are a few examples with links. You may either click on the bold caption or cut and past the URL below the caption into your browser address bar. Thank you, wblack I appreciate very much your good and helpful comments. I am always trying to improve myself as an artist, so your examples and web link are most help. Everything you have written about lights, shadows, rain, mist, reflections, etc. would absolutely apply if I was working in the genre of "science-fact." Since I am working instead in "science fiction," then the normal rules of our planet do not have to apply. Light, shadows, materials, reflections, movements, and many other laws of physics simply do not have to apply. Again, thank you for taking the time to help a fellow artist become better at mastering the magnificent medium of Poser art.
