Description
To all those who lay their lives on the line every day to keep us safe...
To all those who rush in to help, no matter the danger to themselves...
To all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty...
The men and women who serve as our Police, Paramedics, Firefighters, SWAT, Military, Spec Ops, and all those whose devotion and sacrifice allows the rest of us to be free...
Thank You!
How inadequate those two small words sound...
---------------------------------------
I'm sure there will be those few individuals who will feel compelled to make some kind of snide remarks as a couple folks did on my "Don't Tread On Me" post - and that's fine. Freedom of speech is one of our most cherished rights in this country.
But you need to know something:
When you ask "What country will be invaded?" you need to understand that this and many other countries have already been "invaded...."
Invaded by those who seem to feel that if the rest of us do not believe the way they do, we are "infidels" and must be killed.
Invaded by cowards who feel the way to draw attention to their "cause" is to detonate the equivalent of a claymore mine in the middle of a crowd of innocents whose only "crime" was to enjoy a sporting event or a drink in a coffee shop.
Invaded by people who have no compunctions or regrets when it comes to murdering an EIGHT-YEAR-OLD child, or repeatedly shooting a Police officer in the head as he sits in his car.
Someone made the comment "Seriously. You sound like the US is free of blame...."
No - we are not blameless.... We opened our country to these two misfits - and many more. We provided a place they could prosper and grow. We provided subsidized housing, medical care, and an opportunity to attend some of the finest schools in the world. No matter their belief system, or where they came from. Just the same as we have done for many others. How have they rewarded our kindness and generosity? By setting off bombs in the middle of a sporting event? By stealing airplanes and flying them into buildings? No.... Not blameless at all.....
Yeah, we're far from perfect. Like any large family, we frequently fight among ourselves, and we often seem to be a undisciplined, dysfunctional lot. But know this.....
If you pick a fight with one of us, you've picked a fight with ALL of us. All our differences, and petty little arguments will be dropped in a heartbeat. We will unite. And we WILL prevail. And don't EVER make the mistake (as a certain fellow named Kim is making) that we have gone "soft." Don't EVER underestimate our resolve.
We don't relish war - we hate it. But if you spill the blood of our brothers and sisters on our soil, you will find out very quickly what "Don't Tread On Me" really means. We WILL find you. Even if it takes ten years...
'Nuff said...

The eagle and flag, and sunset backdrops are photos by me. The A-10 warthogs by nielwil are performing the 'Missing Man" maneuver in honor of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice..
Working on the next page in the T.N.A. saga.
Thank you all for all the support and sitemails over the last couple of weeks - you have lifted my spirits more than you can possibly know..

Great dedi Rod. Thanks. Mike is right, we should thank them when we see them. I am sure they feel unappreciated at times, we should be lifting their spirits up when we can as well. Thanks MIke, I am ashamed to say I never even think of doing that, not that I have seen many on my day to day routine, but I need to remember that.

An excellent dedication to those who do serve and protect us, Rod. They deserve a lot more respect than they often get!

We had our wedding rings made by a fine jeweler who immigrated to the USA from Romania. As all ethnic groups, Americans from Romania share a bond of shared experience. He says he now and then runs into a fellow American-Romanian who doesn't understand US foreign policy. Why? Why? Why? His response, "The world is like a ship. Every ship has one captain. If not America, who should the captain be...Chinese? Russian? Hats off to you Rod.

Well said. As Charlie Daniels sang, "...we night have done some fightin' amongst ourselves, but you outside people best leave us alone." Cowardly acts are just that, cowardly acts. Real men don't pick on the weak and defenseless, they stand toe to toe with their equals. We as a family may not always agree with the reasoning for a particular war; but when it comes to so much as one soldier being sent into harms way, we agree that their ability to win and return home to their family should never be compromised in any way shape or form - regardless of how much force that entails. Thank God we have such dedicated men and women who selflessly serve on our behalf every day.

Very well put!!!... To many people have forgotten this, or just choose to ignor the sacrifices that so few have done to give us these rights. Then we have those who don't think, and give out halt a$$ comments, Oh Yes the US is to blame for everything... And thats why everyone whats to come here!! Sorry for the Rant! Great Image btw...

read a lot on the net and even where his own younger brother ran over the older one to get away. That is sad. even read about brain implants into the minds of some of these people and that is what causing them to do stuff like this? do not know about brain implants but maybe mind control. as that been going on from WW2 and the Nazis and they got it better now days. read about the one world government and them doing stuff like this to pass laws to take our freedom away. I not worry about all of this. I will just trust in Jesus to protect me as in Palms 23 says.

yeah man no respect the inaviding remark was a bit stupid in my eyes. anyway if you go to a country you are welcomed than you give back some respect. me for example ive had enough of living in spain but that does not gives me the right to call spaniards shitheads and talk bad about ,let alone throwing a bomb,i just go and thats it.sickos. maybe they just wanted attention nothing better to do,or it was jealousy because they where apparently loserz-probably loserz in any society..pow dont let me start ranting on the ones who get horny when seeing a tit and then later on blame the female for having them commit a "Sin" and throw stones behind.

Fantastic render and dedication.

Working at a police department I can tell you that rarely do officers ever hear a thank you, but when they do it makes their day. They never know when they put their uniform on in the morning if they'll be going home that night. Now a days even firemen and EMT's are taking their lives in their hands and end up paying the ultimate price due to crazies out there. So yes, when you see a police officer, fireman or EMT, let them know you appreciate their work!

Super tribute Rod. Those two small words can be quite powrful really, as you have shown here. I don't know who's saying we have some blame, but there is no justification for what happened in Boston. Maybe we've been sticking our noses in other countries business a little too much from time to time, but it seems that if we completely pull away, then the cockroaches come scurrying out. Just sayin'.

Over the weekend, a lot of this came to the forefront. What amazed my wife and I was how "their" fellow countrymen "our" media sought out and interviewed all stated, "They were good boys, their father IS a good man." We Americans used to be perceived how "good" we were by how good our parents were, 50 years ago this year. Then morals, teaching respect for one another and discipline for wrong doing was removed from our schools for fear of "offending" a small minority of people. Our immigration checks and balances were removed (Ellis Island as an example), replaced by bureaucracy and inattention. Military was and still is being cut to the core, borders corrupt on both sides, and yet, we still find the semblance of Love, compassion and humanity to come together in a crisis. Having served in the military, civil service, now as a contractor for the government, (with a lot of that time also as a volunteer firefighter and first responder), I STILL feel I haven't done enough for what America has done for me. We have freed ourselves to oblivion, but, we'll still do it together, when necessary. One of the many things I Love about Renderosity (and other artists sites) is the fellowship and compassion not only for our own talents, but for each others as well. Not to mention the compassion globally for what has happened. Thank All of You and Rod... Great, nay, OUTSTANDING Tribute.
