Route 66 in 1965 when I drove it to California was all whoops and dives in the California desert. A vista like this would be maybe Arizona. The 1961 Chevrolet I rode in in 61 was a Delray post 2 door black with a 409 360hp. Even with 3 guys in it the 4:56 Posi and 4 speed launched into mild fishtails and a sudden 100mph.
