Description
Inside the Cathedral of Barcelona, there is a cloister with a pond in which there are thirteen geese who wander around a large enclosure. These geese & their direct ancestors have lived there for over five centuries. The cathedral is dedicated to Saint Eulalia, who was a 13 year old girl who suffered persecution & martyrdom under Roman rule. I didn't count them, but there are supposed to be 13 of these geese, representing the age at which Saint Eulalia was killed...

I visited this place a few years ago. Unfortunatly it was a very dull day and none of my pics came out as I wished.

Cloisters for me have a special feeling, never have seen one with a pond and geese before. They seem calm and content. The cloister at Salisbury has conifers whose branches rise and fall like the space is spiritually breathing. Your treatment of texture and the color migration to the "ethereal" with the reflection in the pond (so above so below) is excellent. Well done indeed ! ! ! !
