The Polikarpov I-15bis was one of the versions of the Polikarpov I-15 "Chaika"

Excellent render, Pedro. THe point of view that you used really puts the viewer in the scene, and the composition is very good. Terrific job!! The I-15bis model is another great one.

Very fine picture. I like the point of view out of the aircraft. And again, an aircraft not very often seen. Is this one of your Spanish series? Was this in use in Spain? I am curious seeing more from Spain. There are still some to do... ;-)

Awesome Work,
pcaparrosc
Indeed, part of the series of the Spanish civil war. A single batch of 30 aircraft was delivered in late 1938. They were stationed in the area of Catalonia, almost did not enter combat, and to sink the front of Catalonia, 29 units fled to France. After the end of the war, 20 of these aircraft were returned to the winning side and were in service until the early 50s. It is still lots to see, both sides in the Spanish Civil War, apart from the already existing military aircraft in Spain, supplies from Germany, Italy (to the nationalists), the Soviet Union (to the republic), were requisitioned all civil aircraft and through intermediaries, to prevent arms embargo, were purchased aircraft from any source. I estimate that were between 150 and 200, the types of aircraft that flew in Spain in those days, all I had wings and engine, from the obsolete to modern Nieuport 52 Douglas DC2 and Lockheed Electra.

Great scene and I like the idea to frame the action with the wings of another pursuer! I suppose China in the 30's was the "Spain of Asia" -only their civil war kept on going and going -but it seems they also fielded whatever they could get their hands on. I'm looking forward to rendering the model. Another Chinese machine is always appreciated.
