Description

When I arrived in Torrey, Utah on Friday night I met Bill and Tara and we went to dinner. The following morning, after eating a light breakfast at my motel, located east of Torrey near the information center of CAPITOL REEF NATIONAL PARK, I checked out and drove through Torrey to the Thousand Lakes RV Park where Tara and Billl stayed. Torrey is so small, that even though it is shown on the Road Atlas map, it is not in the index. The morning was overcast, the clouds looked like it may rain and/or snow and this small farming community looked so quaint that I stopped and took some pictures. This picture shows the main (and only street), highway 24, on the right is an irrigation ditch that conveys diverted surface water to the nearby fields. After I took pictures, and my watch showed 08:15 AZ time (Utah is on Daylight Savings Time - 1 hr ahead) I proceeded to the RV Park and was surprised that the curtains on the bus (that is what I think of their mobile home) were still drawn. I couldn't believe it. It was after 09:15 local. Bill heard me and came out with Mandy, him still wearing slippers. When I commented on the late hour and about Tara's whereabouts, Tara explained to me that they were retired, and what that meant. I guess I never got that part after I retired, I get up at 06:15, but I make up for it later. During my daily routine I habitually catnap mid-afternoons, early evenings, and later, before I turn in. If I watch an interesting TV program I usually record it, just in case I drift off. This picture was taken on 13 April 2013, Sig...

Ain't retirement grand? :) No schedule but what you put on yourself. Of course in an RV park they want you out by a certain time, but that's usually between 11:00 and 1:00. Today we aren't driving, so we got up ... well ... I have no idea what time we got up. It's nearly 2:00 now, and we aren't quite ready to go out sightseeing! LOL! Dodge City today. yee-haa!

LOL not so sure which is more interesting the photo or your itinerary! Usually these little Utah towns have a cop with a radar gun posted on the road coming into town...this look like even the cop is asleep!
