Red Dragons (So named due to their bright red scales) are ravenous hunters with an incredibly short temper. They will attack anyone or anything they perceive as possible threat, even other dragons flying overhead. They are extra aggressive towards sentient species and have been known to raze entire settlements without provocation. As one would expect the are fire breathers , like so many of their kin, but it is their shriek that is unique to the species. The Red dragon is the one of very few dragons to possess two breath weapons, the second being a sonic wave that is capable of shattering stone. The sound causes the molecules in all but the strongest materials to vibrate until they explode violently apart. Their primary diet is equines and large game though they have been known to prey on almost anything, including smaller dragons.
