Hello All!
This shot was taken yesterday above Malham Cove in the Yorkshire Dales of North Yorkshire (about 40 miles from home) and is the dry valley known as Watlowes. Watlowes was cut by floodwater just after the last Ice Age when it was still cold enough for underground water to remain frozen for all year except summer. It created a spectacular mini gorge with a brilliant backdrop. In ancient times when waters spilled along the gorge it would have cascaded over the huge amphitheatre of Malham Cove which must have been an awesome sight.
I have used four differently exposed images from the same RAW file and blended them together to show how the scene would look to the eye as if you were there in person to see it. A slight alteration of levels, saturation boost, as well as a touch of dodge and burn was also used.
There will be more to follow from this shoot.
Thanks for looking and any comments and critique are, as always, more than welcome and valued!
Carl

Don't you just love England? This could be Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Yorkshire, Lancashire... But it could only be England. The RAW HDR-ish technique works really well here :) Belated congratulations on your LWITG pick - well worth it!
