Description

"Four Quail on a Fence" Much to my surprise, four quail were foraging in my back yard. Before they left, they "posed" for me on the fence. Note 1. First time to see quail in my housing area. 2. For quail to light on the fence or a tree is rare. 3. Quail are game birds in the USA Great Plains States. 4. Amazing how camoflauged they are against the background. Best viewed in full size. Wonderful photo. My experience with quail is cleaning and eating them. My father liked to hunt and Mother and I were the ones who had to deal with the results. They are both beautiful and delicious birds.

I have been told there are many quail in Oklahoma, but I do not recall every seeing one and I have never ate any what a fortuitous opportunity and superb capture
